I watched all three of them and learned something from each! I prefer the ones with voice/sound!

I enjoyed the one on creating a connection string - it was a technique I'd read about elsewhere and enjoyed seeing it put into action. And creating a bak file is something I'm going to need to be doing for myself now (my previous host did that for me), so it was very helpful.

The one about creating a virtual directory left me scratching my head a little. I've never created a virtual directory before, and I love the idea! However, I'm not sure that this video educated me enough to be able to create one for myself! I actually found this (http://forums.ultimahosts.net/forums/permalink/284/286/ShowThread.aspx#286) thread to be more helpful -- although it seems that if I add a domain as instructed, it's using one of my limited resources!!!

These are very good tutorials--makes me glad I brought it up in the wishlist!

I think that the "Create a bak" could be more complete if you were to show how to use the bak to restore an online database through the dotnet panel. Then maybe show how to check it out through sql.ultimahosts.net

 I do agree that the ones with sound are better, not only for explanatory purposes, but also for speed. The ones with voice are slower and therefore allow someone to follow while watching (or while listening when the video window is minimized...this doesn't particulary affect me because of my dual monitors--I suggest that everybody try this setup, you'll NEVER go back to one monitor).

That's what I am working on -- the issue I'm running into is complexity.  It's "easy" but if you screw it up, its rather hard to "go back" and after about 5 trial runs, I'm thinking I'll have to re-think my plan of attack because well, this one is uuuuuuggly!  (It's a permissions thing, a person who's really really green at it might nuke themselves off their site)

Really? I've actually never done it before until I read Marks quick explanation of it (in his description of what the video tutorial could be). And it went by perfectly smoothly--what kind of permissions errors are you running into? I can't come up with any, considering the sql users that you set up are different from the dotnet panel login.

I am following Monty’s silent tutorial and get to half way through to the bit where put in the directory name and add a folder. In the tutorial the root folder flashes and then there is a number of folders to choose between. When I try to do this just the root folder appears with no additional folders. If I click on the create directory tab with just the root folder highlighted the timer just keeps going round with nothing happening.

Are there any other tutorials, guides or white papers on how to take a project from VWD 2005 and upload it using the dotnetpanel.

I am new to web design and have only ever used filezilla before. I am a little lost to be honest. Do I have to upload each individual file separately or can I upload a whole folder with a bunch of files inside?

Any advices please as I have made little or no progress and I have only a couple of days left of my free 7day account : /
