    Guide in brandning reseller account?

Anyone have a guide for branding a reseller account? I would like to make it look like its my servers, so that no where will the Ultima logos, servers and such be visible.

Re: Guide in branding reseller account

We have been waiting for DNP team to come up with the Reseller Guide but I think it's time we made our own. So this is the start of it.

First install the DNP portal onto your own url (ie home.yourdomainname.com). You will find the portal in the application packs in DNP.

Replace the following Gif image with your own:

    /App_Themes/Default/images/dnp_logo2.gif

    Branded Alias:

    http://support.ultimahosts.net/Customer/KBArticle.aspx?articleid=42

    Branded Nameservers:

    http://support.ultimahosts.net/Customer/KBArticle.aspx?articleid=41

If your original nameservers are ns1.dotnetpanels.com then use the following IP's:

    ns1.dotnetpanels.com. [72.9.150.110] [TTL=172800] [US]
    ns2.dotnetpanels.com. [69.16.210.59] [TTL=172800] [US]
    ns3.dotnetpanels.com. [210.50.193.133] [TTL=172800] [AU]

You can also change the email template from the main hosting space of your reseller plan. As well as set nameservers etc.

    Hi Mark,

So I should install the dotnetpanel from application packs, any settings I should adjust or just click thru it?

I did a click thru and seams like it works, as I could login with my account in the panel. This panel ties to you panel as all those details were set?

    Hello,

Yes your installed panel already has the settings to work with our system. Everything should be the same as if you used home.ultimahosts.net etc but you can modify the portal logo and pages etc:

Re: Guide in brandning reseller account?

There is no automatic way to brand the MX records which is why we have use dotnetpanels.com as the domain name. As this only refers to the control panel it shouldn't interfere with your overall branding. The only other way to have automatic branding is to have your own mail server so then we can put in a global MX record for your space.

    Cheers,

    Mark

Re: Guide in brandning reseller account?

Can anyone help with a little more guidance regarding the branded names servers.  I followed the first part of the guide no problem but can someone clarify the part:

"Go to where your domain name is registered and set the domain name to use itself as a nameserver.  You will then need to add in ns1, ns2, ns3 and the IPs from above."

I certainly understand going to where my domain is registered and setting the domain name to use itself as a nameserver but where/ how do I "add in ns1, ns2, ns3 and the IPs from above."

If it matters, the name is registered at 1and1.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: Guide in brandning reseller account?

Is there a way to change the links that are on the side of the DNP Portal  (Webmail, Forums, Helpdesk)  to not point to ultimahosts links and to point to the branded links?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Re: Guide in brandning reseller account?

There is but you need to install your own portal first. You can add your own links by following these instructions:

Re: Guide in brandning reseller account?

Thanks for the link.  When installing the DNP portal, what url should I use for the enterprise server?

Edit:  Nevermind, using the defaults worked.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Re: Guide in brandning reseller account?

    You'll need to create sub-domains (ns1.mydomain.com, ns2.mydomain.com, etc).

For the branded web mail url, is there a way that clients can access that through https?

Re: Guide in brandning reseller account?

Shouldn't be a problem...all you'd need to do is order an SSL Certificate for your webmail URL.  I'd suggest emailng Sales.
