    CSK2 Released!!!

Okay, Mark... I'm looking to you for guidance as to how to implement the new 2.0 release of CSK!  What should we be doing?????

    [EDIT]

Okay... pardon my exuberance, please! But I actually DO have a question here...  after downloading the CSK2.vsi file, I placed it in its own directory called CSK2 (original, huh?) and click on it... where is it putting the resultant files??? When I'm done, nothing is in my bew folder except the .vsi file.

    [EDIT]

Okay... I found where it puts the ZIP file (C:\Documents and Settings\Bruce\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual C#) but NOW what???

    Re: CSK2 Released!!!

Okay, I found the old installation instructions on the CSK site and sorta followed them... managed to get the install screen, selected my database here at UltimaHosts... and it choked! Here's the error:

Could not add the CommerceServerKit objects to the selected CSK Database.
    Connection String:Server=69.16.210.14;Initial Catalog=XXXXXX;user id=XXXXXX; Password=XXXXXX;
    The following error occurred:
There is already an object named 'aspnet_Applications' in the database. - 11/7/2006 6:14:46 PM

There was a Beta 3 database there... what do I need to do to make this work?

    Re: CSK2 Released!!!

    Hi Bruce,

Not sure what you have done here. But here is the process for installing the new starter kit.

Download the Source file in C# or that other language :)

Create a database in dot net panel with a user.

Upload your files from the web folder of the CSK download into your wwwroot folder.

Browse to your website and then add the values for the server, user and password. Untick trusted of course.

Choose install. And then find your database in the list.

Click next and the installer should do the rest. You may have to add your new connection string into the web config file if this isn't updated during the install.

If you have trouble with the above please submit a ticket to support and we will take a look.

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Re: CSK2 Released!!!

Thanks, Mark! This is all resolved now, but I thought I'd clarify in case anybody is following the thread!

If you're moving from Beta 3 to the full CSK2, start from scratch! Create your website, database, and user from within DotNetPanel, and then what I did was click on the CSK2.vsi file locally to install. When that's complete, use Visual Studio to start a New Website using the CSK2 template... and after a few minutes it builds the whole thing for you! Then Debug > Start Debug and it will go through another installation process for the database -- I selected my MS SQL database on Ultima Hosts, and it completed a perfect install.

Mark and Ultima Hosts... you rock! Thanks!
