    Which plan???

    Hi,

Given the many plan options you are offering, I'm a bit confused on which one to get for my wine store's website.  Most plans offer the basics of what I need (MS-SQL, ASP.NET 2.0, etc.), but which one is the best for the following requirements?

    • Dedicated IP and SSL needed for online payment processing.
    • Latest AJAX 1.0 Extensions from Microsoft and AJAX Control Toolkits.  Do I need to install this myself or are they pre-installed?
    • Multiple domain names pointing to the same website (I have at least 3 domain names I want to route to the same URL).  What are the costs associated with doing this and does Ultima Hosts do this on behalf of its customers?
    • What is "IIS Dedicated Application Pools" and why do I need it?  Do I need this if changes are made to Global.asax?
    • What is "Branded Nameserver"?
    • Why would I need more than one dedicated IP?  Are there any scenerios that illustrates a need for this?
    • I won't need too much DB space and Bandwidth initially, but will like to have enough cushion to handle a steady growth in traffic and data.

I will need to get a plan within the next few days, so I would appreciate any feedback on this.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Which plan???

    Hi Jin,

All you really need is the Total Business.Net plan. A dedicated application pool will isolate your site from other sites and can help with loading times and caching the site.

You can point as many domains as you like at your site and the best way to do this is to domain forward the name from the domain registry.

You only need branded nameservers if you want to setup your own hosting company and hide your provider. Basically the multiple IP plans are for resellers who either have multiple ecommerce sites or who want to resell ecommerce plans.

We have AJAX 1.0 installed on all servers but you will need to load the control toolkit into your own bin folder.

With our new bandwidth offerings you should have plenty of room for the site to expand before you need to upgrade your plan.

If you have any questions regarding this please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Mark,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'll review the plan you suggested and sign up early next week.

Can I request the forwarding of domain names when I sign up?  I basically have two names I want to consolidate.

    Re: Which plan???

    Hi Jin,

We should be able to forward a couple of domains for you if you are unable to do this at the registry.

    Cheers,,
