    SQL Web Data Administrator

The SQL Server Web Data Administrator enables you to easily manage your SQL Server data, wherever you are.
Requirements: ASP.NET 1.1, SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005
    Hi UltimaForums,
I have set-up the above software at www.sql.mawhitfield.net. As part of setting it up I created a new database and attached my existing MyPersonal user. The install went ok according to the set-up screen. On trying to logon using MyPersonal User and the appropriate password, I just get a continual egg timer.
What am I doing wrong? Should I be installing to the database I want to manage (onto the domain I want to manage) or am I right to specify a new database and website for this package to then mange the others on my Ultima space?
    Please Advise
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    MARK.

    Hi Mark,

    To tell you the truth the sql application looks like it might get the boot as it is so slow. For web access to the database try our secure site here;

    Cheers,

    Re: SQL Web Data Administrator

    Hi Mark,

Yes I have definitely noticed how SLOW the web data administrator is. I would love to use ultimasql.net (MyLittleAdmin is a great tool!), however how do I log into it? I've tried putting in my user / pass that I log into DotNetPanel with, but no go?

     Thanks!

    Re: SQL Web Data Administrator

    Hi Mark,

You login with the database user credentials. You can create a database user via the SQL user icon in Dot Net Panel.

    Cheers,

    Re: SQL Web Data Administrator

I have tried to use the ultimasql.net and it seems I cannot create, delete or update db scheme. It appears to be just the Free version that only allows you to browse the database. Web Data Admin never lets me log in, so is there another web tool that will let me CRUD db's?

    Re: SQL Web Data Administrator

I use daily ultimasql.net without any problem, I can do various update on my table. Try again, you should have a problem.

    Re: SQL Web Data Administrator

I use the free SQL Server Management Studio Express.....works well.  Pretty fast too.

    Re: SQL Web Data Administrator

I did use this program to attach my database locally and make a backup to restore on the server but am not sure how I would use it to edit tables on the server. Thank you.

    Re: SQL Web Data Administrator

To edit a table (or virtually any DB object), right click on it and select Modify.

You can even open the table and change data.

NOTE: You would need to connect to the Ultima SQL server(s) via the IP address of 69.16.210.14
