Dot Net Panel using Internet Explorer?

    Hi,

Recently, I've been having problems using Dot Net Panel on Internet Explorer (v 6.0).  What's strange is that it used to work fine, but have only recently had this problem (tested on different machines).  Also, I noticed that the Fire Manager is now working properly using FireFox whereas it didn't before (when it came to setting permissions).  I wonder if this change is causing my problems.

By the way, using IE, I can't even get into Dot Net Panel.  A browser pops up, but doesn't do anything.  It simply hangs and when I force it to close, all IE browser windows close with an error message (typical on that Microsoft pops out).

That's quite strange as I've been using IE6 to access DNP since I signed up...I'm in there almost daily with no problems.

Are you accessing DNP via this URL?:  http://www.ultima1.net

No.  I'm accessing DNP via https://home.ultimahosts.net, which is the link that was provided to me.  Also, the link you indicated doesn't allow me to login using my user/password.

What kind of hosting plan do you have?  Shared or VPS?

I think I have shared.  It's Branded.Net, which is a reseller variety I believe.  I wanted to get multiple accounts in case we needed it, not for reselling.

It's just very strange because it works perfectly on FireFox, but not on IE.  It used to be that FireFox had issues with File Manager when setting directory rights, but now it works fine, but the IE is hanging.  I verified it both at work and at home.

Very weird.  I actually just tried to login via https://home.ultimahosts.net and was not able to, but I can login fine at ultima1.net.  Nevertheless, I'd say submit a support ticket (support@ultimahosts.net).

I will submit a ticket.  By the way, what's the difference between the two links?  Different hosting server?

    That would be my guess.

Re: Dot Net Panel using Internet Explorer?

This should be fixed now as we sources the problem to a setting in IIS compression. There is a different setting on Ultima1 which allowed this to keep functioning. Ultima1 by the way is a separate DNP install with its own database etc.

Now I'm having problems with IE6 in DNP.  I can login, but once I select my Space (Success.Net), it freezes up.

    I have two DNP's:  ultima1.net and cp.itechcs.com

I guess my problem migrated over to you now...  maybe Mark can apply whatever fix he applied to your section as well.
