I just got a freedom.net plan, and i was wondering what the fee was for each domain that i register under it.

Hi oooshola,

There is no fee attached to add a domain to the plan. If you want to register a domain name with us we charge $10 USD per year per domain name or $40 for 5 domain names. Hope that helps.

Hey Mark,

 Hmmm...that sounds like a fee to me! But that's fine, I expected to pay around that much. Yes, I would like to register with Ultima, but I'm not sure I did it right. Do you all have a tutorial or something to set up a generic website, from start to finish?

 This is what I did:

1) Clicked on Domains > add a domain (www.oooshola.com)

2) Set up a website using the oooshola.com domain (also set up a subfolder under my reseller account for this website).

3) Created an ftp account to access that folder

Is this enough? I can ftp to the site (I have a default.aspx file sitting there), but I cant see it on the web yet. Shall I be waiting for the domain name to propogate, or is there more I have to do? I don't know much about DNS in particular.

They are the right steps to create a website:

Create domain > create website >

when you create a domain it will create a temp domain too called xxxx.ultima1.net etc

Add this as a pointer to your website under website properties. This will enable you to view the site before propagation.

Have you already purchased that domain name or did you want to have Ultima register it for you? I wish domain names were all free to but I thought you were asking about domain creations.

Oooh ok, I figured it out...I have the domain now, I'll just have to connect ultima to it. Like I said, I don't know much about DNS, but to do this, I'll have to change the nameservers on my domain name registrar control panel to the ones that my ultima host account gave me, correct?

Hi oooshola,

Yes that is correct all you need to do is change the nameserver to the values in your welcome email. Once the domain and website are created on our servers the DNS will be ready to receive your domain name from the register.
