    More Info

Noobie here.  I've been a developer for years, but this whole reseller thing is very intriguing.  Basically, how does it work?

If I only have 2 GB, how can I resell with that?  Or do I have to buy a new plan, and then resell it?   I have to pay $10/mo, then charge them $15/mo to make a profit, why wouldn't they just come to you and pay the $10?

As you can see, I'm very new to this concept and would appreciate as detailed of an expalination as possible...or even a web link where I can do some research.  I'm planning on doing some "Googling" right now!  ;-p

My current client has many members that may be interested in personal websites and we'd like to offer that to them as an add-on to their membership fees.  If we can do that with one of you plans, it may be a nice revenue stream.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Re: More Info

    Hi Mike,

Basically the way a reseller is setup is that they buy in bulk and resell for a profit. Take our Branded.Net plan which is basically 5 Ecommerce.Net plans for the price of 2. You can resell these plans for $199 each or whatever price you can arrange with your client.

With the Unlimited Plans you need to really develop your own plans (say 200 MB etc) to accomodate your clients.

If you want to do a straight resell of our plans you can purchase them for half price and then resell them. These clients go under your reseller umbrella (you are the first line of support) and each year you can collect the 50% profit.

To qualify as a reseller you need to have at least one reseller plan too.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if I can provide more information regarding this.

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Re: More Info

Thanks Mark.  This definitely helps.  Part of my problem was I didn't see your Reseller Category.  Only the 3 main plans.  Once I went back to the home page, I noticed all of your other plans.

Just to clarify, if I purchased Success.Net, I would basically have 5 1gb plans to sell, but if I purchased Unlimited.Net, I could split up the 2gb however many times as I wanted to (w/in reason).  But with both you only have one SSL cert., correct?..not one per site.  And once you have a reseller plan, you can buy additional Non-SSL plans for 50%.  Sounds good.

Also, It's unclear as to which plans allow branded control panels.  Do all reseller plans allow this?  For example, Ultima.net mentions it, but the higher priced Reseller.net and Success.net do not.  Is it assumed that they do offer branding based on their cost?

    Thanks again,

    Mike

    Re: More Info

    Hi mtomeo,

There is one SSL certificate and dedicated IP address per plan not per site. But if you wanted multiple SSL's you could purchase Branded.Net for this which gives you 5 SSL's and 5 domains.

With the branded control panels it is possible for us to install this on your site but we would recommend an SSL for secure login. I will include the branded control panel in each plan that does have an SSL.  The idea of branded just came along with the Ultima plan but can be done (even manually by the reseller) for any plan that has a dedicated IP address [you could also do it without but at a risk].

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Cheers,

    Mark
